Gear Up For Reds Baseball

Opening Day Lineup 2009

Per John Fay of the Enquirer, here is the lineup the Reds trot out vs. Johan Santana and the Mets tomorrow:

Jerry Hairston Jr. lf
Darnell McDonald cf
Joey Votto 1b
Brandon Phillips 2b
Jay Bruce rf
Edwin Encarnacion 3b
Ramon Hernandez c
Alex Gonzalez ss
Aaron Harang p

Taveras has the flu, thus McDonald getting the start.  Santana’s career batting average against vs. righties is actually worse than lefties (.226 vs lefties, .222 vs. righties), but you figure McDonald gets the start over Dickerson since he is right-handed.
